Message: | I was briefly/unofficially named Alison Dawn Kelly. Born 09/04/1970. Adopted 19/05/1970. Mother`s surname was Kelly. Father`s father (I think) was a Methodist minister. Family may have come from around Yorkshire. I believe my birth mother was very young when she had me (in Islington). I think it was a Christian adoption centre in London which I don`t think is around any more. Was told father had sandy/ginger-ish coloured hair and mum brown - not sure how correct that is. Please get in touch if you have any info! Thanks :)Jo ***UPDATE*** No idea how to reply to messages. Got one as an email which I could reply to. Sorry, not ignoring the others! To get my birth certificate, I think I need to see a counsellor as I was born before a certain year when the law changed to allow tracing. That`s what puts me off. I don`t want it to be the start of a journey, I just want to find out a few things online. It looks as though Kelly was (as I initially thought) my birth mother`s surname so have updated my post. Just got another reply through as an email so maybe some are just slow in arriving. Will reply as and when I receive them! Someone did kindly help and sent me through loads of into about family - but I think he got the wrong family :( Another update - sorry Jenny can\`t reply to you in any way. It seems I need my birth mother\`s first name. I have her surname as Kelly. Surely it wasn\`t Kelly Kelly as the FreeBDM seems to suggest. Ta. | |
