Seeking:  Rosie Wheatcroft
Location:  Yorkshire and the Humber : Sheffield
Message:  Hello I'm wondering if anyone could help please. I had a daughter 10days before my 15th birthday in 1995.I concealed my pregnancy up until I was 7months, from my parents as I was too scared. My parents gave me a choice of either going into a mother and baby unit and never seeing them again or having my child adopted.I wasn't strong enough at the time to believe I could have looked after my beautiful girl or to believe that just me would have been enough for her,it's a choice that has killed me inside everyday since. She was taken straight into foster care and adopted within 6months. I only ever saw her and held her in my arms once thanks to a angel education welfare officer Jean Mason and my social worker Carol Baker as they took me out of school without my parents knowledge to her foster carers home. My parents, mainly my mother as they were seperated, ceased all contact with social services as soon as we left the hospital. She said at the time because they were upsetting me but I'm figuring now that it eased her guilt. Suffice to say I soon rebelled and was kicked out of home several times before I permanently left at 16. I've been in touch with Sheffield family services over the years several times but the adoptive parents also ceased contact with them soon after the adoption went through and moved away.Although they did send me some photos of my daughter at the hospital with a nurse,a memory that should've been mine and hers to treasure. I have posted on here before but got no responses,my life is in a permanent state of numbness. I'm only wanting to know that she's safe and well and had a happy life, either from her or someone who knows who she is? Or just some guidance on other areas I could check? I really haven't a clue how to search for her. Thank you for reading. Michelle Wheatcroft.

Location:  Greater London : Hampstead
Message:  I have been leaving messages for Sheila every year on her birthday for years. Only this time, one or two of beautiful and kind people directed me to this version of your surname, I was not sure so I have been leaving messages for every variation. Thank you people. Some of your info were very useful which can help me. However I have lost your emails and can not respond to you. You can advise me more, please contact me again. I can not afford to pay for my search, so I have to do it myself if I know where to look for. Would my daughter see this? or someone tell her about it? Sandy

Seeking:  Grenney
Location:  South West
Message:  [EDIT: MANY THANKS TO ALL FOR THE REPLIES. SEEM TO HAVE PLENTY TO GET ON WITH BUT IF ANYONE CAN GET FURTHER BACK THAT WOULD BE GREAT, E.G. DONALD GRENNEY AND THE TOUT PART OF THE BLOODLINE.]This is a slightly different enquiry. I have used this service before to find my biological parents. My biological mother is also adopted. We have tried to do some tracing of other relatives and I know that her father is/was Douglas Joseph Stewart Grenney and her mother is/was Winifred Mary Grenney - my mother\'s birth certificate arrived this morning to confirm this. I had thought my mother\'s brother was called Douglas and maybe he is and was just named after his dad. It seems my mother was put up for adoption but her brother wasn\'t. We had written twice a couple of years apart to her brother, or someone we thought was her brother, but did not get a reply, either because we were mistaken or because he doesn\'t want to know. My mother is having an appointment with an adoption counsellor fairly soon and will hopefully get her papers to shed some light, but I\'m wondering what people can tell me here, which will involve some refreshing of my memory too. Is her brother called Douglas? I think I had found before that we have a French-Irish bloodline, with Tout being the Irish surname and Grenney being derived from Grenier on the French side, but I\'ve always been concerned that this might be an error and that a false lead has been followed, although if it\'s correct then great. During my efforts over the years to find out all this I\'ve often lost momentum and lost notes and names, and it does seem that every time I return to this site the technology and databases have advanced and the information improves. I have been visiting my mother now for 12 years once or twice a year and am very grateful for all assistance I\'ve had here if anyone is around here from 2001-ish. Thanks for all help.

Seeking:  Julia Williams
Location:  West Midlands : Wellington
Message:  Hello Julia, This is your Alastair. I was born in June 1961 and you were only 22. I was born in Wellington, Shropshire. Afterwards you cared and looked after me for 10 weeks at Myford House, Horsehay, Shropshire, we were separated in the middle of August when I was handed over to my new parents on that day. The records say that you were very upset at the parting. I have just received my official birth details and would very much like to get in touch with you. It is not my wish to cause you any distress or to upset you or your family but I do want you to know that I have had a good life and have been well loved and am happy at the age of 52. I am hoping that you eventually found happiness and went on to have a loving family and the love you deserved - perhaps I even have brothers or sisters. It must have been such a dreadful decision you had to make. I assume that you returned home to live and look after your mother who lived near Mold in Flintshire, Wales I have no malice whats so ever and only wish you well. My name now is Robert John but the name you gave me was Alastair. I would love to hear from you or your family. With love, affection and gratitude Alastair PS Alastair Williams is on Facebook
